Microsoft has officially launched its AI-powered Designer app, now available to all users on iOS and Android. This Canva-like app allows users to generate images and designs using text prompts, creating items such as stickers, greeting cards, invitations, collages, and more.
The Designer app, accessible in over 80 languages on the web, is now available as a free mobile app and as an application within Windows.
One of the standout features of Designer is its “prompt templates,” which help kickstart the creative process. These templates include various styles and descriptions that users can experiment with and customize. Additionally, users can share templates with others to build on each other’s ideas.
Beyond stickers, the app allows users to create emojis, clip art, wallpapers, monograms, avatars, and more using text prompts.
Designer also offers AI-powered image editing and restyling. For example, users can upload a selfie, select from a range of styles, and add any extra details to transform the photo. An upcoming feature, “replace background,” will enable users to change image backgrounds using text prompts.
With the introduction of the standalone Designer app, Microsoft has also integrated the service into applications like Word and PowerPoint through Copilot. Users with a Copilot Pro subscription can create images and designs directly within their workflow. Soon, users will have the option to generate banners for their Word documents based on the document’s content.
This new app aims to streamline the design process, making it easier and more accessible for users to create professional-quality graphics and designs across various platforms.
