    Snapchat+ Introduces AI-Generated Stickers and Self-Destructing Snaps

Snapchat is expanding its premium subscription service, Snapchat+, by introducing AI-powered custom stickers and self-destructing Snaps. These new features aim to attract more users to the paid tier and enhance engagement within the platform.

    Create AI-Generated Stickers in Chats

Snapchat+ subscribers in the U.S. now have the ability to generate personalized stickers that match their messages. Users can simply type in the chat bar and then tap the sticker search button to generate an AI-powered sticker featuring the text they entered.

Snapchat isn’t the only company exploring AI-generated stickers. Both Apple and Meta have already introduced similar features, reflecting a broader trend in AI-driven personalization across social media.

This latest update builds on Snapchat’s existing AI-generated image feature, launched in 2023, which lets subscribers create images from text prompts. By adding AI stickers, Snapchat+ users now have even more ways to personalize their conversations and make their messages more interactive.

    Self-Destructing Snaps with ‘Snap Modes’

Another notable addition is Snap Modes, a feature giving users more control over how their Snaps are shared and viewed. Initially, this will allow Snapchat+ subscribers to send self-destructing Snaps that disappear if not opened within a set time frame.

While the company hasn’t disclosed what other Snap Modes might be introduced in the future, it’s clear that Snapchat is looking to enhance user privacy and engagement with innovative messaging tools.

    Snapchat’s Growing Investment in AI

The introduction of AI stickers follows Snap’s recent unveiling of an AI text-to-image model designed for mobile devices. This model is expected to power AI Snaps, Bitmoji backgrounds, and more in the coming months. However, a company spokesperson clarified that the new custom AI sticker feature is not currently using this model—though future updates may incorporate it.

Snapchat+ Continues to Drive Revenue Growth

Snapchat has been actively expanding its premium subscription service, and the strategy appears to be paying off. According to Snap’s Q4 2024 earnings report, Snapchat+ has reached 14 million subscribers. CEO Evan Spiegel highlighted that the company’s “other revenue” segment, primarily driven by Snapchat+ subscriptions, saw a 131% year-over-year growth and is now generating over $500 million annually
