Dan Chen, an entrepreneur with a background in venture capital and co-founder of Hero, has identified a gap in resources for solutions teams in enterprises. These teams, responsible for conveying complex technical information to potential clients, often lack adequate staffing and support. To address this issue, Chen has launched Quilt, a platform leveraging generative AI to empower solutions sales teams.

Quilt’s AI-powered assistants assist solutions engineers with various tasks, including completing requests for proposals, answering technical inquiries, and preparing for demonstrations. These assistants are equipped to handle security questionnaires, provide support via Slack, and summarize relevant information from meetings and research materials. Chen emphasizes that Quilt’s technology is uniquely capable of incorporating engineers’ technical expertise and understanding context, thus saving time on routine tasks and enabling teams to focus on customer interactions and deal closure.

Despite concerns about generative AI’s tendency to produce inaccuracies or “hallucinations,” Chen assures that Quilt mitigates such risks by carefully managing data and separating factual knowledge from enterprise-specific information. Quilt prioritizes customer trust and privacy, allowing users to delete their accounts and data at any time and ensuring data is not shared across organizations.

Investors, including Sequoia, have shown confidence in Quilt’s potential, contributing to a $2.5 million seed round. While specific customer names remain undisclosed, Quilt plans to expand its team, enhance its market presence, and continue developing innovative solutions assistants.

As organizations increasingly recognize the role of AI in enhancing sales performance, Quilt aims to be the preferred AI partner for solutions teams. With the potential to streamline tasks and boost productivity, AI-driven solutions like Quilt could revolutionize sales processes in complex and technical domains.
